Audi Maintenance in Los Angeles: How much should you expect to pay?

Antonio Davila • January 27, 2023

Owning an Audi is a luxury experience, but with luxury comes a higher cost of maintenance and repairs. However, just how much more should you expect to pay compared to a standard vehicle? With today's cars being increasingly complex and reliant on electronics, repairs can be costly when things go wrong. That's why we recommend investing in an extended warranty for your Audi. While they may be expensive upfront, the cost of repairs in the long run can be even higher without one. Consider looking into options from Fidelity or USAA if you have a family member in the military.

If you don't have an extended warranty, be prepared for higher maintenance and repair costs as your Audi approaches 80,000 miles. Of course, this is not a hard and fast rule and some customers may have lower maintenance costs, but this is often the case for those who treat their cars like their own children and use premium oils and perform services more frequently than recommended.

Following the Audi service schedule, you can expect to service your car every 10,000 miles. And remember, your first service is typically free at any dealership across the country. However, prices for major and minor services can vary, with Southern California (especially West Los Angeles) having some of the highest prices in the country due to the high cost of rent.

A minor service, which usually includes oil, filters, and inspection, should cost between $235 and $380 depending on the type of engine. The larger the engine, the higher the cost due to the amount of oil required. The most expensive part of a major service is the spark plug service, with a major service costing between $800 and $1,300. Audi models such as the A4 and Q5 will be on the lower end of this spectrum, while the S8 and R8 will be on the higher end. These prices may fluctuate by $90 to $250+ depending on if you need pollen and air filters.

Additionally, every two years, regardless of mileage, you will need a brake fluid change, with a cost ranging from $180 to $275. If your car is already in for a service, we may be able to offer a discount on this service.
